About Me
I'm Becky.
I've always been a bit … different!
I spent over a decade climbing the corporate ladder, trying to squash myself into a mould - trying to reach someone else's ideals.
Then, one day, I couldn’t find the energy to keep going.
The mask slipped, and I’m refusing to put it back on (Autism assessment pending).
After coming to the realisation that I might not be neurotypical, I decided to create something that felt more like me.
Part of what makes me Quirky is my spicy brain. For a long time I thought my personality was flawed, that being different meant I didn’t fit into the world. Now I know it was the world that didn’t fit me. I just needed to build one that did!
That experience led me to help other people find the energy to grow their own business in the way that works for them. Prioritising purpose AND personality.
I'm here to tell you that taking a break from the daily grind to sit back, reflect and start fresh is OK - and it's also ok to mourn what wasn't working.

Big thinking for small businesses.
As The Quirky Assistant, I offer practical, human support that feels collaborative and relatable.
I help small businesses and charities uncover their identity. I use this to drive connection through storytelling and set up systems that make a difference to how they operate.
I'm not a fan of cookie-cutter solutions or rigid off-the-shelf packages. I want to really understand the ways you work, what matters to you, and where you need the most support.
My goal is to help you feel more organised, less overwhelmed, and confident that the details are being handled with care.
Whether that means freeing up your time, smoothing out your processes, or simply being a calm, capable presence in your business, I'm here to make things easier.
I believe that business owners are conditioned to tackle issues one by one, and end up focusing on the little things because they think it will make their life easier.
If you rarely make time to look at the bigger picture then get in touch and let's put in the work to build stronger foundations that will help you work smarter in the long run.
You know your business. I know mine. Together, that's a lot.
So, who am I (beyond being The Quirky Assistant)?
I’m a melting pot of interests, experiences, styles and tastes, topped up with just a little sprinkling of everyone who's ever been important to me.
I am passionate about travel, learning about other cultures, and photography (both taking photos and looking at them).
I like food, music and getting out into nature, especially if the sea is involved.
Professionally, I have a knack for making complex things feel a little less daunting (and a lot more doable).
At my core, I'm someone who strives to bring structure, consistency, and calm.
Communication has always been central to my work.
In practice, this means I'm often the person who listens carefully, joins the dots, and gently asks the questions that help things click.
Over the years, I've supported a mix of corporate and not-for-profit organisations, turning big ideas into clear, accessible messages that resonate with a broad range of audiences. I've helped them find clarity, connect meaningfully, and build relationships that last.
Now, through The Quirky Assistant, I use those skills to support small businesses in a way that feels human, flexible, and grounded - helping them create space for the future, building momentum, and confidence, as they grow.

Spreadsheets, strategy and the occasional sea swim!
Where am I based?
Born and raised just outside of Brighton, in Sussex, I now live in South East Cornwall with my husband, Joel, and our cat, Daisy.
After leaving my career of 13 years, I followed my heart West. Joel grew up in Penzance and my parents have lived in Polperro since 2012.
Moving to Cornwall was driven by the need for a slower pace of life. The rat race of the South East was no longer serving me. My physical health was suffering and I knew it was time to prioritise myself in new and different ways. I desperately wanted to reconnect with my sense of self. Something I feel is important for us all.
Now, we live just outside of Liskeard, and I am proud to call Cornwall my home.
In turn, I have a passion for supporting small, local, independent businesses.
Whilst all of my services can be delivered remotely, I do love meeting my clients in person and will happily travel to do so (within reason).
