About Me

I’m Becky.

I’ve always been a bit … different!

Born and raised just outside of Brighton, in Sussex, I now live in South East Cornwall with my partner and cat, Daisy. Here in Cornwall is where I have grown accustomed to a slower pace of life. Something I feel is important for us all.

I spent over a decade climbing the corporate ladder, trying to squash myself into a mould - trying to reach someone else's ideals.

Then, one day, I couldn’t find the energy to keep going.

The mask slipped, and I’m refusing to put it back on.

If you met me in 2005 I would’ve described myself as an indie kid.

Now, I am a melting pot of interests, experiences, styles and tastes, topped up with just a little sprinkling of everyone who’s ever been important to me.

I am passionate about travel, learning about other cultures, and photography (both taking photos and looking at them). I like food, music and getting out into nature, especially if the sea is involved.

The Quirky Assistant

I created The Quirky Assistant to offer practical, human support that feels collaborative and relatable.

I’m not a fan of cookie-cutter solutions or rigid off-the-shelf packages. I want to really understand the ways you work, what matters to you, and where you need the most support.

My goal is to help you feel more organised, less overwhelmed, and confident that the details are being handled with care.

Whether that means freeing up your time, smoothing out your processes, or simply being a calm, capable presence in your business, I’m here to make things easier.

I have a passion for supporting local, independent businesses and, whilst all my services can be delivered remotely, I love meeting my clients in person.

So, if you’re a small business in Cornwall - and you’re looking for an assistant who is reliable, thoughtful and a little bit quirky - then you’re in the right place!

My Experience

A self-professed writer, communication has always been central to my work.

I have a knack for making complex things feel a little less daunting, and a lot more doable.

Over the years, I’ve supported a mix of corporate and not-for-profit organisations, turning big ideas into clear, accessible messages that resonate with a broad range of audiences.

I’ve helped them find clarity, connect meaningfully, and build relationships that last.

I’ve developed a strong understanding of people: how they think, what motivates them, and what can get in the way of progress. And, as a result, I’ve built skills that I continually rely on to raise awareness, forge connections and drive action.

I approach my relationships with passion. I value clear communication and practice real care in how work is delivered and supported over time.

I am curious - excellent at identifying, understanding and translating the critical difference between needs and beliefs, as well as any barriers to achieving goals.

Most of all, I believe in creating strong, flexible foundations that help promote growth through change over time. I am not solely focused on the here and now, but purposefully create space for the future.

At my core, I’m someone who strives to bring structure, consistency, and calm.

In practice, this means I’m often the person who listens carefully, joins the dots, and gently asks the questions that help things click.

Now, through The Quirky Assistant, I use those skills to support small businesses in a way that feels human, flexible, and grounded - helping them create space, momentum, and confidence as they grow.
